Alzheimer’s safety is a pressing issue for families and communities. Americans with Alzheimer’s Disease number 2.4 to 5.1 million individuals. One in eight age 65 and older and nearly 50% of Americans age 85 and older suffer. SIXTY PERCENT of Alzheimer’s patients are likely to wander. Wanders are vulnerable to dehydration, adverse weather conditions, traffic hazards, and individuals that prey on those who are defenseless. Up to 50% of wandering Alzheimer patients will become seriously injured or die, if they are not found within 24 hours of their departure. Families need help. First responders need help communicating to the confused. There is this common connection to Autism in the wandering and consequences. Comments and questions about helpful products are welcomed.
